After some serious research into the family tree by Rob McLester; the original Mr Hair was discovered! To put it all in context, Rob has photoshopped in Mr Hair to see what he would have looked like as well ... ... !
Mr Hair was featured on Soundtrack Of My Life with Sharon Muiruri tonight on Hope FM 90.1. A similar format to Desert Island Discs, Richard chose 7 tracks and chatted with Sharon on how they have influenced him and marked turning points in his life. Aired between 8pm - 9pm, the interview covered everything from how Richard first got in to music, who the man behind the hair really is, and why he does what he does.
We've had a few queries over where episode three is (and why episode two appears in the post "episode three uploaded!". So ok, just to explain how it works - every new episode we release will be available by logging in on the OPOSIUM site. We'll make the previous episode public; so if you want to see the latest upload; login otherwise you'll have to wait until the next episode comes out!
The first weekend in September has been mad. I was woken up by a text from Andrew our roadie that said "Did ALL that really happen on Saturday, or was it just a bad dream?"... No really it did. OPOSIUM had been invited to play at a wedding function in Shapwick which sounded inoquous enough... except I had the idea of taking a real piano along with us to play beside the river for the champagne reception. Unfortunately it hammered it with rain all afternoon so us taking the piano proved useless, but the gig inside the marquee went amazing and everybody really enjoyed our light renditions of swung up tracks from Life Under The Sun; as well as a LOT of impromtu jamming! In fact, we'd never played jazz together before, and guest saxophonist Henry Dobson hadn't even met Professor Stix and Mr Brain. Actually this was Professor Stix's first live gig with OPOSIUM - although it felt like he'd been part of the band for a lot longer ! We've only had one rehersal with him ... and that was just a jam!
So the gig was great! After heading back from the pub though, a little over zealous Doctor One managed to get the piano caught off the back of the truck ... Not many people claim to have seen an upright piano somersault down a road - Doctor One and Andrew are now in that select bunch! So now we're left with this piano that we have no idea what to do with. Any suggestions?????
... We did think about getting the army to blow it up on Salisbury plain ... ...
